Norgespris from october 1st 2025

Norgespris is a new government support scheme that gives you a fixed and predictable electricity price throughout the year. The scheme is an alternative to the current electricity support arrangement.

Norgespris is an alternative to the current electricity support arrangement, and its purpose is to provide people with greater predictability and stability with the electricity costs. Norgespris act has been passed by Stortinget (the Norwegian Parliament).

  • Norgespris must be ordered, and it is linked to your electricity meter with a binding period until 31.12.2026.
  • During the binding period, the electricity price is fixed at 50 øre per kilowatt-hour (40 øre excluding VAT). In addition, grid tariffs and any surcharges from your electricity supplier apply.
  • Norgespris is administered by the grid companies and will appear as a deduction or addition on your grid tariff invoice.
  • Norgespris is available from 1.10.2025 and applies from the day you place your order. You can order Norgespris at any time during the year.

Who can order Norgespris?

Households

Anyone living in a private residence can choose Norgespris as an alternative to the electricity support scheme. Norgespris then applies for up to 5.000 kWh per month. If you do not order Norgespris, you will automatically be connected to the electricity support scheme.

Fritidsboliger

Cabin owners can also choose the Norgespris scheme to ensure predictable electricity price, even though they are not covered by the electricity support arrangement. You can have the Norgespris agreement for your cabin as a private individual. Company-owned cabins and cabins primarily used for rental are not eligible for Norgespris. For holiday homes, Norgespris applies for up to 1.000 kWh per month.

How to order Norgespris

You order Norgespris by logging in with an electronic ID at elhub.no. It will be possible to order Norgespris throughout the year. If you don’t have BankID or another electronic ID, you can contact BKK for manual order.

Elhub is the electricity industry’s shared system for meter readings and customer information and has developed the solution for ordering Norgespris. Here’s how to proceed to order Norgespris through Elhub:

  • Log in at Elhub: https://minside.elhub.no (åpnes i nytt vindu)
  • Log in with an electronic ID (BankID, MinID, Buypass and Confides)
  • Select the meter (address) for which you want to order Norgespris
  • Press “Bestill norgespris “ (Order norgespris)
  • Read the terms and receive confirmation by e-mail

Do you have multiple electricity meters registered to your name? Then you must order Norgespris for each individual meter.

You can order Norgespris at any time until the end of 2026. Norgespris applies from the day you place your order.

What is the difference between current electricity support arrangement and the “Norgespris”?

The electricity support kicks in when the electricity price exceeds 93.75 øre/kWh including VAT. At that point, the state covers 90 percent of the electricity price above this level. The electricity support applies only to households, not holiday homes. All households automatically receive electricity support.

Norgespris is an alternative to the electricity support and must be actively ordered. Norgespris applies to both households and holiday homes.
